Nuclear Medicine

As the Department of Nuclear Medicine at Güven Hospital, our primary goal is to provide the highest quality healthcare services accessible to everyone. By utilizing the latest technology, we perform all diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with the most appropriate and precise techniques.

Our department is equipped with a radioactive treatment room for thyroid cancer therapy, a Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner, two dual-head gamma cameras (one dedicated for cardiac imaging), and a bone mineral densitometry device.

In our PET unit, we have a synthesis module for the production of Ga-68 radiopharmaceuticals. Routine PET imaging includes FDG PET, Ga-68 DOTATATE PET, and Ga-68 PSMA PET for diagnostic purposes. In eligible patients, we also perform advanced peptide receptor radionuclide therapies (PRRT) such as Lu-177 DOTATATE and Lu-177 PSMA, following current international standards.

Our highly experienced team provides both inpatient and outpatient radioactive iodine treatments for thyroid diseases, as well as periodic follow-up for thyroid cancer patients.

For selected cases of primary or metastatic liver tumors, transarterial radioembolization (TARE) is performed in collaboration with our interventional radiology team.

All radioguided surgery (gamma probe) applications are routinely performed, including breast ROLL procedures, sentinel lymph node studies, lymphatic mapping in malignant melanoma, and ROLL localization for primary/recurrent thyroid and parathyroid surgeries, as well as preoperative marking of pulmonary ground-glass nodules.
